Perfect for back country
My ATV sets way out in the country, and the cold mornings kill my battery. Most times after several cold days in a row it just won't start. I picked up this solar charger hoping it would work. I put this charger on my battery before I leave and next trip out even if below zero my ATV starts like new. Unit is small but works perfectly for my needs. does not produce enough power to keep the battery maintained when it sets for a week without use.
It will not keep up with the normal drain on my 02' GMC Envoy. It helps but if the vehicle setts more than a week even with the solar charger hooked up it won't start. The vehicle has been checked by the dealer and they can find not problems. If I hook it up to a battery maintainer plucked into the wall outlet it does just fine. I was very disappointed in the results. It would be nice to find a solar charger that will maintain the car battery when it sets for a couple weeks. I have gone back to disconnecting the battery and connecting the battery charger/maintainer to keep it from freezing in the winter time.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
