Ge Wall remote switch, great product.

GE wireless wall switch works great, and has been reliable. Very easy to install. I have the switch installed within a couple of feet of the outlet (receiver), so don't know how far the actual range would be. I'm happy with the quality and operation.

  • Top critical review

    Ok but not great

If you only need one it's perfect. But if you need multiple ones in a home less that 100 feet wide, then you end up turning all The switch is on at the same time because there is only one frequency for the remotes

  • Remote Wall Switch to Power a Lamp

Very usefull for a room that had no active light switch. Now powers a floor light at far side of the room. No wiring needed. Battery only needs replacing after a year or two. And it comes in two choices of signal: A and B so that you could have two separate lamps in the same room. I also previously bought two units, both "B" signal, and used the two switches with one floor lamp to work as a three-way switch. In this way one switch is at opposite entrances to the room.

  • The Remote Wall Switch is Flawless. Love It!

I bought some led lights to go under and over my kitchen cabinets. I put the power supply on top of the cabinet out if sight and was able to route the wire down between and over cabinets. However how to control it? I did not want to do dedicated wiring, as the only light switch was for the single light fixture (I replaced ugly florescent tube fixture with LED light bar and Lutron digital dimmer). However how to control the cabinet light fixtures? The GE switch works perfect. I plugged and extension cored into existing back wall and routed it to above cabinet There I have the GE remote switch, which feeds the power supply. The switch attaches to wall and is right next to the square LUTRON dimmer, which replaced a traditional toggle switch/plate. It looks snazzy and works well. The LED's by the way have their own REMOVE on off and dimmer. However it is a little remote and wanted a traditional wall switch.... WINNER.

  • A perfect solution!

This is a special purpose item that is the perfect solution if your circumstances call for it. I'm remodeling my bedroom including adding and rewiring outlets. The ceiling is low; I don't want an overhead light, and I don't want to wire numerous outlets to operate from the wall switch for lamps. This remote wall switch with receiver allows me to use any outlet in the room as my source for a primary room lamp. I can rearrange the room at will and just move the receiver with lamp to another outlet location. I have tested this item throughout my house...it will operate with the switch in one room and the receiver in another. The unit is nice looking and appears to be well made. The outer shells are fairly heavy white plastic. The wall plate will protrude from the wall a little more than a standard hard-wired switch, but not enough to look unsightly. You are able use the second plug-in on the outlet the receiver is plugged into. the wall switch does require a battery (A23, 12 volt). I don't know how long it will last in this unit, but I have a hand-held light remote switch, and 2 remote door bell buttons using this battery, and they have been in use for well over a year without changing. I definitely recommend this item and give it 5 stars.

  • Perfect solution to add a switch .

Perfect for adding a light switch to a lamp or a light in a room not wired for light switch. This comes in different switch frequencies, a, b c and d. If you have an A already, you should get one of the other versions so they do not interfere with each other

  • cheaper than an electrician

The GE wireless remote outlet with white Decora switch is a great cost effective option rather than that hiring an electrician. I should know because I am a certified journeyman electrician. Sometimes it is not cost effective and/or practical to add a switch to an electrical outlet especially if you live in an apartment or rent a home. For example, you want to switch the lights on and off on your Christmas tree or other decorative stuff that requires 120vac. The GE can do just that and the remote can be set on a table top or mounted to the wall. I my case it was undercabinet lighting in the kitchen that was quick and easy to just use the 120v recept that was located in the above range cabinet recept that provides power to the range vent. I would have spent a day cutting, notching, fishing wire, repairing drywall, retexturing, priming, painting, wiring of recepts and switches. The GE made it quick and cheap to get the same result. One thing to remember is that this model comes in an "A" and "B" channel model which is important if you are wanting to switch two different items seperately or want to have remote switching of the same item from two different entry points ( a 3way type switch). The channel letter is clearly marked on the back of the packaging but it does not have an explaination. Now you know what to look or ask for when purchasing Remote plug recept unit also has an bright blue LED indicator light to let you know your appliance has been switched on. Plug in unit is powered by the 120 recept it is plugged into. The remote switch has a small battery that should last a while since it only requires momentary power for switching your appliance. Good luck

  • Convenience at your fingertips

Had such an item many years ago w/ a smaller receiver but it had a recall on it for related fire hazard, had a regular wall switch toggle on it. This has a larger receiver but it's fine and the wall switch can be touched on either or top and it operates on/off. Doesn't make any noise, is cool to the touch - feel confident and it works like a champ. I've only had it for a few weeks so let's see but for right now - great! Opted to use the two way sticky mount tape instead of screws w/ included mounting plate. It's fine, stays steady - all good! Saves me hassle of constantly trying to wind around my desk to turn on lamp = can now do it easily from doorway entrance. Yeah!

  • DO NOT BUY MORE THEN ONE - IT WILL NOT WORK

If you only plan on buying one then you are good to go, but the moment you buy 2 or 3 or more then they will not work. They all have the same frequency and one wall switch will shut each outlet off at once and these things go far in distance, almost 100ft. Do not buy more then one, if you need more then one find another brand.
