  • Amazing Headphones

I recently got into headphones. My collection consists of AKG K7xx, Fostex THX00, Sennheiser HD598, HD650, Philips 9500, Philips Fidelio X2, Beyerdynamic 880/600 and a few more. It's midfi purgatory basically. The MX50s surprised me. They well worth the money and then some. Even though it is a closed sound stage, it's so clear. These sound much better than a lot of the headphones I've listed, minus the X2s. The x2s, 880s, and the m50xs are must buys. If you can find the Fostex, get those too! The mids are sonically clear, treble aren't too harsh and the boosted bass are a nice signature. The extra cables and case are nice. The only con are the ear pads. For sure, replace those with the velour to get an open sound, but you lose the closed signature. Usually a rule is to keep closed closed and open open, never mix. But, they just get so sweaty and uncomfortable.

  • Worth the Pleasure

Please note it is very difficult to find the most comfortable, nice sounding, and awesomely stylish headphones out there. Some may regard this item as a waste of money. I think otherwise. Granted it is pricey, but there are worse ways to do away with money. Not for everyone, but audiophiles who are willing to pay for it, rather than spending their money elsewhere, may be overjoyed. Quality has a price and if one is really into it; one may appreciate it as one of the best set of headphones, experienced, period.
