Not For a Commercial Action
My Commercial Action was a nightmare to get bedded into this stock - I have a 3006 contoured barrel as well. I do NOT FAULT the maker of this stock, But I suggest not buying it for a different contour. My main issue is after hours of fitting the barrel contour & then the action & lug areas, the " free float " is about 3/8" above the barrel channel as viewed looking down the forend. I had to re-fit the entire length of the receiver to get a nice profile. After all this, the magazine actually worked a lot smoother. All in All - a good stock, but if you plan anything a little different, get ready for some work.....Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Fitting to an Action is...Interesting
The instructions say some minor fitting may be required. That depends on what you consider minor fitting. I've got some experience with fitting actions to stocks and this has been a significant event. The action has to have significant quantities from under the receiver to allow it to fit properly in the action. I'm still working on trimming and fitting the magazine to allow the bolt to pick up and chamber a round. On a scale of 1 to 10, I think I could comfortably rate this at about 7.0. Once the system has some time in the market place and there are a number of customers giving feed back, the product will be a good unit.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I have been looking for an in expensive synthetic stock for a Mauser project I started buying material for a couple of years ago and set aside till I saw this and decided to finish what I started. The quality and look of this are good. it required a little fitting for my bolt handle, receiver and heavier barrel than original but I expected that. I used a Bold trigger and it fit, so Timney is not your only choice of triggers. I am very pleased with my purchase. I would have liked to see a bigger selection of magazines but this looks like I can modify it to carry the round I am building this into easily. If you are building an 8, 7, mm or .30-06 this is perfect but I am going 7.62 which is a little shorter.
