These mags are a bit weird. They work fine when in my actual OG Shield 9, but when removed, they dont quite function properly. Comparing with an OEM flush 7-round mag, the Pro-Mag version sticks out of the gun very slightly more. The mag catch works fine, though the lockup isnt quite as positive as OEM. You should be able to fit the full 7 round capacity as well. The biggest thing is that the tolerances are not as tight as OEM and there are larger gaps between the parts. The follower is smaller than OEM, which leads to it being wobbly, causing rounds to be awkward to load and unload. Due to the follower being too small, if you try unload rounds, the front lip of the mag catches on the casing, so you need to wobble rounds out of the mag. With that being said, when loaded up and in the gun, it will function with no problems (I cycled a full up mag of JHP and FMJ through with no hang-ups and no noticeable difficulty, everything cycled as cleanly as an OEM mag). I kind of expected it to be of cheaper construction compared to OEM due to the lower price, but I didnt realize that the cut corners make it more of a pain to use. Keep this in mind if you do decide to get these mags.Read full review

The magazine does not fit properly . It takes to much force to load the weapon and when trying to eject the magazine it gets stuck , does not slide out smoothly would be a big concern when trying to reload during a fire fight . I do not recommend . You are better off going with a better brand for a few more dollars .

This mag does not fit flush with the bottom of the mag well and seems to be loose inside because it wiggled around inside. It's held in place well enough by the mag release. I can only fit 6 rounds in it, can't get the 7th to load no matter what I try. Twice the slide has locked open with a round still inside it. I will keep it as an extra range mag but 5 bucks more I will get another factory mag. Can't depend on the pro mag for every day carry.

I was looking for a second mag for my 9mm, so purchased this one. It fits a little loose in the gun. Although it is held securely in place, there is some slight movement. It does not fit snug and tight, like my 8 round mag. Also, loading it is very difficult. That may be due to the newness of the spring, but the first time hour of loading rounds, I couldn't get more than 4-5 bullets in it. I am hoping after some use and a 'break in' period, the spring will loosen up some. Overall, I think it is fine for a second backup mag.

I can Recommend these mags (ProMag - SMI 26) because they actually hold 7 rds! Unlike the (2) S&W factory magazines I have that will only hold 6 rds😱! The S&W 8 rounders are just fine and I am very satisfied with them. But if you need or want to keep your grip as short as possible then use these ProMag 7rd mags & forget about the S&W factory issue type!! I'm hoping that Smith & Wesson is aware of this problem with their 7rd mags by now and are doing something to FIX the issue.

Really pleased with product, dark finish makes the space between seated Magazine a mag Well less noticeable on my Shield...replaced Spring with Maguts Plus 0ne Z Spring but original Spring seems to be of good quality

Good non OEM magazine, however there is one problem. You can not add a grip extender designed for Shield Magazines to this as it has 2 round buttons to hold the plate rather than one oblong one. If you don't want to use a grip extender it works fine.

As others have said it fits loose in the gun. Doesn't fit/feel as quality as the oem. And the extension on the 8 round fits my hand perfectly while this one feels slightly shorter giving a less confident grip.

I have had a few issues with this mag not loading the last round in the chamber. However, it fits my M&P shield perfect. I have not had a single issue with the mags that came with the pistol not loading every round . this mag more than 3 times has failed to load my last bullet. The chamber would lock open and there would be a round left in mag.

Good mag, runs flawlessly but don't try to put the finger extension baseplate on it as it's incompatible with the mags inner spring floor plate. Which is the whole reason I bought it. Now you know.
