A very effective rod cutter, but heavy
This really does a good job. It does a little better on the largest rod size (1/2 in.) vs. the smallest (1/4 in.). I've used it to trim 1/4 in. bolts, and cut 3/8 in. and 1/2 in. pipe support rods. The only reasons I rated it four stars and not five are weight, and the time it takes to change die size. It is very heavy and a little tough to position if you're cutting loose rod. It is really great if you have to cut a lot of the same size of rod - if you need to cut a few of several sizes infrequently, it's probably too expensive to invest in... I got a good price on a used one and that made it worth it to me.

Best way to cut allthread
Using this tool is the best and fastest way to cut allthread. It does not mess up the threads like a band saw can and a Sawzall does.
