    A decent magazine.

The quality of the mag body is great, but the followers are not up to GI quality and have many folds. The folds bind on the body of the magazine and result in contact as the follower rides up and down. It appears that some mags will need bending adjustment at the folds to function perfectly. Also the magazine springs are not of GI quality. That said, they are better than another widely available make.

    Don't fall for this trap!!!

When I opened the package, there was a disclaimer stating that these magazines are factory new, they may have stiff springs and may not feed properly, this is not a result of a defective magazine. I have several weapons with several magazines, never in my life have I encountered the problems that I did with these dumpster grade pieces of garbage. These mags are poorly machined and sharp around the edges. The M1 carbine is designed to be a semi automatic weapon. These mags turned mine into a bolt action, for not a single round with these auto fed. No, it's not the weapon, I've owned it for two years, clean it religiously, and my other mags fees just fine. As far as I'm concerned, I didn't underpay for magazines, I overpaid for a couple of doorstops.

  • Works

Great price and fits well. However one of the mags I bought had a loose bottle slide. It still worked but bulged out a little. After lightly tapping the slide, it looked normal but right when I loaded it with ammo, it bulged out again. I gave it a 4 star because I have not yet shot the rifle with this mag and the bulging issue.

  • ProMag M1 carbine magazine

Only gave 4 stars as I haven't loaded a round in it, I'm using it in a wall hanger, it wouldn't be fair to others to give it 5 stars and have possible feed errors, if I was to guess I'm sure it'd work great, as I've have great luck with ProMag magazines in M1As before.

  • Carbine Mags...

Follow directions on the first use or you may have problems with it. I changed the follower to a bolt hold-open type which does not come with this type of mag.

  • Better than expected

After reading reviews of new manufacture carbine mags I was nervous about buying one myself. This mag fits my Inland a bit snug but locks in tight with a firm smack. Haven’t had a chance to see how it feeds but hopes are high. Seems to be made with quality in mind.

  • Well made, BUT.....

Wonderful piece for ORIGINAL Carbines, but had to have "Feed Lips" adjusted before they would Fail To Feed, with nose against frame just BELOW feed ramp. So, not a GREAT BIG deal, but these SHOULD be modernized for NEW PRODUCTION Carbines. Now? Oh, yeah, not a single FTF! Worth the cost? Yup, but TEST THEM before going to the range and being embarrassed when every trigger pull presents a JAM!

  • May work well with Modern M1 Carbines

I would say this magazine would function well in a more modern M1. My carbine was mfg. in 1944 by Inland MFG Division of GM for the military. I had to modify the top of the mag and also the tabs on the back in order for it to seat and stay secure. I do not blame Pro Mag, but if you Carbine is from WW2 you may encounter the same issue.

  • M1 Carbine Mag

These are well made magazines, the reason I gave them 4 stars is the 3 I have bought all came with the spring in backwards. This will cause feeding problems and jams. Simple fix just remove the floor plate and reverse the spring so the high part of the spring is facing the rear of the follower - magazine and that should solve the problem
