I was experiencing a loss of contact between my Spektrum DX8 Gen 2 and my airplanes with Genuine Spektrum receivers . It was at one specific field . loss of control the reaction was " what the hell is going on"? it happened several times to myself and other pilots had the exact same experience. I want to fly with total confidence ! I Purchased the Futaba 14SG and will never look back ..no more screams of panic . I have a new sense of security and zero issues ..even after 100 flights on the 14SG and nine genuine Futaba FASST receivers . the 14 SG is not hard to program at all .. I read through the manual ..set up my first model on it and nkw I can flow through the menu with ease . Backlight is excellent and the screen is easy to read at the bench or in the field . Switches , sliders and knob are all very high quality with zero slop. everything about this radio says quality am dependability. built like a tank ..looks and feels like a serious radio..and IT IS !! I highly recommend this Transmitter ! Update - 1/12/2018 Love this radio , not a single issue of any kind ! Expensive and worth it. Programing has proven to be very straight forward and once I learned the basic and now advanced menu , I will never go back to Spektrum and they hype ..I don't care if they release a radio that serves dinner and drinks ! really nice to be able to have total faith in my radio system and not feel like I may or may not loose contact with my models . Offers numerous configuration combinations but is not for the beginner. Programing offers so many choices and options that I would suggest that this be a second radio. A major feature is its accommodation of many 2.4 receivers.
