GREAT BUT COSTLY
The Rycote shock mount is a long over due as the industry standard. The only downside is price. The design is revolutionary and effective but it is primarily molded plastic. I think upwards of one hundred dollars is pretty high. It's not a practical investment for moderately priced microphones. If any quantity is needed, the hit approaches the cost of another very nice microphone which comes complete with it's own shock mount. Audio Technica mics provide notoriously weak shock mounts. They may be very effective but are not at all secure. I purchased the Rycote to replace the mount for my AT4050 and now it's my most practical microphone to use for a variety of applications. I wish I could afford to replace all my shock mounts with Rycotes. The InVision universal mount is otherwise flawless.
