I put this on my 1894 Marlin, that I have a Skinner aperature rear sight on. I had glare on the original sight, and the tunnel on this one, cured that. Plus I now have a choice of inserts for the front sight, that I could change as light conditions warranted. There are several variations of this sight, all in different heights. This one (.404) is the lowest. Rifle front sights have the height measured up, from the dovetail on the rifle barrel. Be sure to measure this way. Some fitting may be required. You may need to narrow the sides of the dovetail on the sight, to get a proper fit. It must fit tightly. A drop of red loctite doesn't hurt. Remember to keep the 60 degree bevel. Never open the dovetail on the barrel. You always modify the cheapest part, which is the sight.
