This rod should easily handle fish 50 lbs. or less in slow water. Should be very suitable for catfish, northern pike, & muskies. I may use it for early season paddlefish snagging using 3oz. sinker and 30# braid. I only fish freshwater. I'm sure it is suitable for light salt water fishing.

  • Big, but light, and controllable.

I was fishing at the Potomac this weekend, and this rod held up to some decent gusts, and casting was really nice. I thought I would have problems and a big learning curve with a 'surf rod', but I was pleasantly surprised by the rod's sturdy, yet springy nature. I'm really pleased with it. I look forward to landing some nice Bass. And for looks, I put a white Okuma reel and braided line on this, and it looks sharp. Who needs to spend $300+ for a mixed use rod? No one. Am telling my friends to get this.

Looks Good but I have not used the product yet. Being a fishing pole and all. I think that might be of importance.
