I have Hogue grips on all of my large caliber revolvers. The grips do not eliminate recoil, but they do make recoil very manageable. I bought this pair for my small J Frame revolver which is also an air weight so even with light loads the recoil is very noticeable. I immediately tried shooting this small revolver once I installed the grips, and again, they did not eliminate recoil, but made the revolver very controllable for follow up shots. Not all rubber . . .
It is not the one I wanted. I ordered a rubber grip, but it has hard plastic inside of it which makes it as hard as a plastic grip. It's not at all soft as one we have on another revolver exactly like the one I bought it for.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Fits my hand better than original grip
This grip fit my S&W 642 after I replaced the pin with the one provided with the grip. It was relatively easy to install but I did have a slight problem getting the screw to engage the nut inside. Once that was done the grip fit well in my hand. There is a slight gap at the top of the grip which I am not fond of but it doesn't appear to be a problem at this point. I can now grip the gun with 3 fingers instead of just two with the original. I haven't fired it yet but I'm sure it will improve handling. It also doesn't appear to add much weight to this little gun. It also fits nicely inside my pocket which was a concern of mine since it is slightly longer.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Best upgrade for the money
Like I said, it's the cheapest upgrade you can do, and the results are well worth 30 bucks. Getting a 3 finger hold makes a big difference in control of these lightweight revolvers. Note that if you are ankle holster carrying, it will print more with a longer grip. Also, make sure you are buying the correct number grip for your firearm,Google it go to the hogue website, or message your seller. My new favorite grips for my 638 Airweight!
This is the second set of additional grips I have gotten for this gun, and are by far, my favorite! They extend downward and allow your pinky to fully wrap around them for an extra firm grip, which is very necessary as this gun kicks like a mule. When I pocket carry with them on the grip does stick out slightly but the extra control over the gun is well worth it. Finally, this grip provides a decent chuck of material between the web of your hand and the metal frame, unlike my other grips. It still hurts to shoot after a while but it makes it so much better. I would highly recommend these to anyone.

Feels Great
This feels great in the hand. It makes my S&W 642 more controllable and it points right at the target. It is not as easy to “Pocket Carry” as the factory grips, but the trade off is worth it. It is possible with pockets that are deeper than average. FYI: I purchased the speed strips and IWB Holster on eBay.

The Hogue Grips Are Great!
I have had the factory grips on my Model 60 for almost 20 years, and decided to give the Hogue grips a try. Man--what a difference. It's like I just got a new pistol. Ladies S&W 38 Special Monogrip

Great grip
I purchased this for my new S&W M60-15 as the excellent Hogue stock grips had too small of a profile for my medium sized hands to control 357 magnum lite/high end 38 +P (Buffalo Bore) cartridges. This new grip has more palm swell and is just a bit longer to aid in getting all fingers on the grip. It also has a bit more "stickyness" to it.
