Have tried putting other disposable tanks in freezer before refilling to get as much fuel as possible but never get a near full tank. Ended up getting the flame master refill valve and allows you to bleed off excess space to allow a more complete fill. Up to 80% per they're video before overfill starts venting. 2mm hex works that came with additional tanks. No more partial fills which means more burn time or light for the LP and less spare disposable tanks which can and has leaked over time. And less land fill.

I thought these bottles are a bit on the expensive side until I did the math... now I think they are totally worth it! High quality powder coating, nice brass valve, and the top valve protector / handle is a great idea too. It seems the bottle is a tiny bit taller than the throw-away one I had left, but so what. Everything else seems to be exactly the same except the valve. This new valve design is really cool! I love the way the pressure relief screw works just like when the commercial guys fill my bbq tank. I plan on buying two more for my sister. And the refill adapter is super easy to use too- also high quality.

With disposable filters continuing to increase in price, only to quickly end up in a land fill, an option exists to safely fill propane cylinders for your camp stove, mantel light or whatever you need them for. I was previously horrified by people touting ways to refill the disposable one use tanks. Highly flammable pressurized gas is not the place to MacIver. People have been killed and badly burned trying that little experiment. This option is the safe option. These tanks are heavy gauge and are DOT approved for refilling. They are heavy duty and well designed with a bleeder valve to vent gas while filling with liquid propane. You owed it to yourself to use these if you are refilling small propane tanks. Easy, safe and reusable.

These are safely refillable, saving you quite a bit of money over the long run if you use a lot of propane in these one pound cylinder bottles. It is convenient to be able to refill them yourself from a 20 lb cylinder saving you time, expense and inconvenience. Very easy to do and I use a scale to weigh them to make sure I have filled them enough and have not over filled them which I haven't because after purging them at the end of filling them, with the bleeder screw, they are full or very close to full, only having to put a little more in two after refilling a dozen.
