Great microphone for any use while away from the CB radio.

This works great at home or at work. I work in a building and like to listen to things on the outside. There is no reception in the building but with this microphone, linked to the radio in my car outside, I am able to hear what is going on. The range is excellent on this unit. My Uniden 980 radio is set to scan with the squelch adjusted and I pickup any active channels on it and the Uniden BC906W wireless microphone. I could get in on the conversation but that will stop the scan function and I will be locked on the channel I spoke on. No problem if a person monitors a single channel.

Good only if used with the radios that they are proprietary to

The product is a good buy it worked as expected with one little problem unless you buy the radios that they are specifically made to go with do not try to alter this product to use with any other type of radio it will not work like that these microphones are proprietary to the bearcat 80069 60 and various other model bearcat radios not your standard older Cobra and uniden bearcat products so yes product is good if used with a or newer radio but not good to be used with older model radios they are not compatible

  • Great mike just had a hic-up

tried out soon after connecting to Bearcat 980. connected no problem, made contact with mobile about 14 miles away. Contact sounded like he was in my front yard, had to turn volume down on mike, contact said he had good copy on me and mike and new radio sounded good. I'm using a 102" whip about 30 foot up to talk off of. Using as base antenna. The whip has very good ears as base or mmobile I use whip on back of my truck also. This mike has a 650-ma h Battery in it, I have ordered a 1000 mah battery, hope it fit mike, will make mike last longer between charges uses BT-1008 battery-650 mah Update Had to return to Uniden, mike wouldn't cut off or any control and red led flashing all the time waiting on uniden to repair and rreturn Been5 days & no reresponserom Uniden rerepair, called Uniden said mike to be repaired and sent back by end of Month (march)I ordered another to use,got hooked on wireless mike. This mike working ok day 2 New 1000ma battery works fine in mike BT-1008.

  • Good product, surprising uses.

I have been using the BC906-W in my truck for the last 3 weeks, 5 days a week 12 hours a day. I have discovered some interesting benefits. The Uniden *80 series radios have line level audio in the mic connector, this provides the BC906W with audio independent of the volume control. The audio on the external speaker I have connected to the radio is of a different tone than the audio coming from the microphone it's like stereo with different tonal qualities on each side. I listen and decide which one is better for receiving a particularly difficult signal and turn the audio on the other off. I have found good signal consistently out to 90 m. Another handy use is to turn on the TalkBack and give somebody the microphone to ground guide me backing around corners excetera. I hear the person with the microphone perfectly in the cab of the truck with the TalkBack, if I don't see any reason for transmitting this signal iselect PA and unplug the PA speaker and it's communication between microphone and truck without transmitting. Another use for PA mode is to watch people jump when an otherwise quiet and empty truck starts talking to them. With the right set-up you could address a crowd while standing on the hood of a car. I am attempting to see if other dect 6.0 things like headsets could be paired to the receiver. I would also like to install auxiliary audoi in ports so I could listen to the car stereo outside of the vehicle, the RCA line-level output for an amplifier that most car stereos have would be perfect for this. Outside of the truck you could allow a group of people to listen to the weather broadcast that the bearcat radio is capable of receiving. The only complaint I have is battery life but I acquired mine used and suspect that may be the issue. I will replace the battery with a new one and see if that is the issue. You can run it as a corded mic with the charge cord connected but if power is momentarily interrupted the microphone unpairs from the radio and that becomes annoying. It would also be very handy if the Cradle was a charger. Thinking about trying to install wireless charging but I fear that would cause audio interference. It may be possible to install charging contacts on the cradle and the microphone if I do that I would do a write-up of the procedure. All in all a very good product and I'm sure other people can come up with more interesting uses, I would be curious to hear them.

  • Pretty good.

The mic seems to work well, using it on my BC880 as a base station. The mic hole is quite small compared to the speaker, therefore you really have to have to small mic hole close to your mouth for someone to hear you. My external speaker won't work with the mic hooked up which isn't a deal breaker. All in all a nice unit for $35, a new mic for $65+ is a bit too much.

  • wireless mic

I have been using this mic for almost a week with out issues. Still trying to get used to keying up with out hitting the volume controls at the same time. It is working great. It is nice not having to be in my vehicle to keep in contact with trucks coming and going from site. Havent used it more than 30 feet from my vehicle.

  • waste of money

Terrible modulation, almost have to scream into it for people to hear you. Doesn't have the distance as promised.A fail by uniden. I feel bad for the seller because it's not his fault, his service and promise was kept while Uniden failed.

  • Mobile or base ... GREAT mic!

Well built, rugged, great range. Decent battery capacity (6-7hrs) but convenient to turn on/off to preserve charge. Using as a remote mic w/980ssb as a base (KL703 kicker) and I'm not confined to sitting in my shack delaying chores. I can tx/rx anywhere in house or yard. This mic is loud! Modded w/foam over element to knock down those "P" puff-puff sounds. I hang it around my neck w/belt clip and lanyard for ease of listening and access!
