Good product, one glitch
I bought my first Blackhawk paddle holster for my Glock 26 recently, and I liked that you can adjust the cant forward or backwards, and the mechanism performed perfectly. I can see why this would be the best choice for LEOs or people who might need to get their weapon out in a hurry; it keeps the gun grip away from your body, so when you go for it you get the grip in your hand in the ready to fire position, your trigger finger falls on the release lever and then onto the trigger as soon as the gun is released. The rest of the time the weapon stays secure, and the holster doesn't wiggle around or migrate on your belt. My only criticism is that the release lever is too exposed; in my opinion it should rest in a deeper recess to prevent being unlocked in a scuffle or when bumping against something. I liked the Glock holster so much that I bought another for my 1911, but this one behaves a bit differently. With the Glock I can grab the grip and begin pulling the pistol out as hit the release with me finger, and it comes out. But if I pull on the grip of my 1911 before hitting the release it remians locked. I have to allow the 1911 to settle back down all the way in the holster for the release to let go of it. Small enough of a hitch to live with at the range, but one that could have dire consequences in a life or death situation, when you're amped on adrenaline and trying to yank your gun out NOW. The "tension adjustment screw" that is supposed to allow some adjustment of the retaining system doesn't seem to alleviate the issue. Perhaps I don't understand the design, but I can't find any adjustment that cures the release locking up when the pistol is being lifted, so I must remember to push down on the 1911 before pressing the release lever. I'm not LEO, and I don't imagine I'll ever be involved in a high noon style quick draw gunfight, so the holster still gets 4 out of 5 stars, but if I were LEO, I would definitely be carrying the GlockVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great holster, as usual.
I ordered this thinking it would fit a commanders model. Nope. for full size gun. But, I'm keeping it because I know the holster works and it gives me a reason to go gun shopping!! Great for open carry 1911, concealed is tough but possible
Use this with my 1911. Easy to open carry at the range, but in FL we can only carry concealed at this time. This is an OWB holster with a good paddle retention system and quality for the price. The belt clip design holds a heavy 1911A1 with 9 rounds securely, and it will not fall out of the holster or off of your waistband. The angle that the firearm sits in the holster is easily adjustable with 3 screws. The paddle retention resistance is also adjustable. Out of the box, it was very stiff but quickly fixed.
