The groundbreaking aperture combined with the versatile wide-angle 24-35mm focal length allows photographers to easily replace three common lenses, the 24mm, 28mm, and 35mm, with one piece of gear. Sigma 24-35mm f/2 DG HSM Art Lens for Nikon F.
This lens is very large and heavy for its focal length range, but if you don't mind the bulkiness, it produces crisp images when paired with my Nikon D750. On my camera it had issues with front focusing, but that was easily resolved with AF fine-tune (alternatively the Sigma dock could be used). I have had no other problems with auto-focusing.
I previously owned the Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 art lens, and I will say that that lens appears sharper than this one, but the image quality from this lens is still great. For a wide angle lens, the bokeh produced at f2 is surprisingly pleasant. Vignetting and distortion at the shorter focal lengths are very noticeable, but if you shoot RAW these can be corrected in post-processing.
Overall I highly recommend this lens if you are looking for good image quality and aren't particular about carrying around a heavy lens. The images included in this review were shot on a Nikon D750 in RAW and post-processed with Adobe CC Lightroom.
Sharp Wide angle lens in the wide focal lengths I like to use.
This lens is big and well built. Sharp all the way from F2. Sigma is really on a roll with their ART Line of lenses. Very good on color fringing for a wide angle as well. If you like wide angle wide apertures, this is the lens to get. Stop reading and buy it now!
