The Bauhaus lives
It was a core principle of the Bauhaus school's Mies van der Rohe that "less is more," and this fits that precept... very nicely. Once it's charged by the sun, it's essentially on its own, and its accuracy seems reliable. The watch was a replacement for a Rolex that I've owned for more than 40 years -- a watch that, no matter how many times Rolex adjusted it, never kept accurate time. It could lose as much as five minutes a week. To have the Rolex serviced and adjusted... again... would have cost 50% more than this Citizen. So it was time for that over-rated Swiss device to retire to the Unwatched Home where it will neither tick nor tick me off. Why Citizen? I bought my wife a Citizen for the first time 30 years ago, and it still works fine. Three years ago, I bought her another. She adores it. So, if the third time's the charm, this watch is it.
