Brightest gas lantern available. Quality build.
I got this to replace my Coleman Northstar lantern, because - twice as bright! And it is a beast. Quality contruction. The folding legs are innovative for table-top use. The chain handle is a bit fiddly, I think I would have prefered swing out loop. I lights easily. The mantles are easy to install. I am a bit worried about the glass bulb, as I cannot find a replacement easily, but my old lantern never broke one over 10 years, so I guess I will be fine. I prefer gas light to LED as I find LED always harsh on the eyes. Note: These big lanterns are not good for soft light. Both make a howling noise on the lowest settings. Great for medium to very bright area lighting .If you want mood lighting, get a smaller lantern.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Big and bright
It's a big lantern, and it's the brightest propane lantern on the market, that I'm aware of. It isn't perfect, but nothing is. I would like to take the legs off to pole mount it, but that isn't possible without disassembling the entire lantern. I would like a top reflector similar to the Petromax, but Coleman doesn't offer one. Fortunately, none of these flaws are handicaps.
