  • Comfortable textured picks at a great price! Get (and keep) a grip!

If you've never tried "Brain Picks" guitar picks, you owe it to yourself to give them a try! The picks themselves are good quality. The material they are made of is reasonably flexible & not brittle so they hold up and last a long time, and not only do they feel good to play with, but they sound good as well. Their quality control also seems to be really good--you don't get a lot of picks with sharp shards of extra plastic hanging off the edges (that's not a huge problem, you can always smooth that off with an emery board/nail file, but I still like that they care enough about their product to make sure they're smooth and ready to play well right out of the tin). Oh, and that's another value-added cool thing about these pics: they're packed in a cool sturdy re-usable metal tin! It fits easily in your pocket and keeps your picks from scattering all over the place and getting lost in the pockets of your guitar cases. But as much as I like the tin, the best part about these picks is the texture. The upper 2/3 of each pick has a raised bumpy pattern to help you grip the pick. This is a big deal for me as I am all about feel when I play and I actually struggled as a beginner to play with a pick. I always felt really awkward, like I wasn't holding the pick right, and I always felt like it was slipping out of my fingers. The Brain Picks have a nice slightly raised bumpy texture that is enough to help improve your grip, but it's not textured enough to feel rough or annoying when you hold them. I've used these in picks in several sizes so far (the purple 0.60mm, the red 0.73mm, and the black 0.88mm), and they're one of my all time favorite "go-to" picks. I prefer them over both Dunlop's USA Nylons and Dunlop's "MaxGrip" Nylons. For the record, my preferred non-textured guitar picks are the Dunlop "Tortex" Series, but when it comes to a textured guitar pick (which is what I use at least 80% of the time), the Snarling Dogs "Brain Picks" are my favs. Give them a try! :-)

  • Grippy-ness

My friend introduced me to brain picks a while ago. I don't know how he got onto them, but I thank him constantly. I always used dunlop before, but every time he'd come over to jam and I wouldn't have a pick, I'd borrow one of his brain picks. I always tended to keep using them until I then lost another one. He would then give me another. He's a generous friend. Anyway, the grippyness on these picks is to die for. With those dunlops, I would sometimes drop picks which is annoying. Luckily, these have the perfect amount of grip. You never lose them inside your sound hole or drop them because you adjust your fingies while you're playing. I bought some of these recently because I was out of picks and I couldn't be happier. The grey or black ones are the best for my playing, but I'm sure all of the sizes will suit various of thickness needs.

  • Cool

Actually, I bought these picks because I needed a little tin box to keep my picks in, the box is really cool but, I think the picks that came in the box are great. They have a raised grip for a comfortable nonslip grip. So, I'm glad I gave these picks a shot and chose to buy them from mauery21804. They Shipped them immediately and got them days early.

  • Good picks but a bit rough

They're good picks but while the surface is nice and grippy I find it a bit rough on my fingers. I'm used to Dunlop and Dava picks and I'll be going back to them. Tastes vary and you might prefer these.

  • Awesome Picks

Some of the best picks I've purchased. Really like them. Been playing Dunlop .88 for years and like the grip on these better.

  • Non-slip textured pick!

The upper half of the pick is textured and prevents the pick from slipping out of your fingers!
