Packaged well Brand New in box. No complaints here. Item worked perfect. Thanks a million. **** Fan is a little on the noisy side **** only because it is small and powerfull. Its not so loud you can't stand it but it can defianetly be heard above the rest of the computer. Not like the original shuttle power supply that was low noise and yes i had it turned to smartFAN in bios, i even tried the quiet setting and still can be heard. However for the price difference vs a shuttle brand PS I can deal with the extra noise. Do buy from these guys
The power supply you sent me is defective. It races the CPU fan as soon as it is plugged in and the fan does not stop. It also races the fan after shut down. I would not leave this in a clients computer. I was replacing the power supply because it had a noise cooling fan. I had to take both power supplies apart and use the fan from the one you sent me for my clients computer. You have just lost a good customer. Very disappointed with you parts. If you want it back I will assemble it with the noise fan I removed form my clients computer.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Cheap generic power supply
It was marked '500w". It fit as it should. It had all the necessary plugs for a Dell D4700 and a bunch extra. The only instructions were on how to break 4 pins off of the 24 pin main plug (I didn't need to.) No other instructions so make good notes on what goes where before you remove your old power supply. a great fix at a great price.
After a brief power outage, my old Dell Inspiron failed to start. It appeared that I had AC power in but no power to various internal components. Diagnosis; bad power supply. Fortunately, the OEM and part number were clearly indicated on the old PS. A Google search and an Amazon search did not really help but EBay produced several promising results. I settled on the KDMPOWER offering because they are also in Houston and I figured it would get here the fastest. I was not disappointed. It was shipped promptly and arrived in just a couple of days. To my surprise, the new unit was the correct size physically but was 320 watts instead of 250,watts, a modest upgrade. Installation took less than 15 minutes and the computer started right up. Works well but quality control is lacking
The only problem I had was the on/off button by the power cord it was locked on and would not turn off OFF the power supply, being the only problem I did not return the item. Windows turns off the power supply so i'll have to to live with it, good quality control checks would have prevented the faulty on/off switch.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

More power than the stock one
This power supply fits perfectly into its spot, easy to install. The only thing I noticed is the power cable to the DVD drive. The original power supply has it as a separate cable, this one is not, it is an extension of the HDD power cable. This PSU is much better than any other PSU I have had in the past (at least 5). I'm using it to power my dual Xeon E5 2650 95W server and I'm every happy with the fact that it is very quiet. I think I will buy another one to power my living room computer just because of this fact. Great replacement for XPS 420
My OEM power supply on my Dell XPS 420 finally had a failed fan after many years and I needed a replacement. This does the trick and is a breeze to install. One thing to note is that this power supply is a bit smaller than the OEM power supply and will leave a small gap in the back of the XPS 420 due to the decreased size but this is a purely cosmetic issue as it has no effect on the quality of the product.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
