I chose not to shell out the money for another brand that build the laser in the grip that activate from the grip like my other CCW , plus I like the Hogue Grip it comes with. The main difference is you need to manually turn laser on and off from a switch on the laser body itself . (and the price) I don't know if the laser will be a big game changer in a attack situation , I would believe you would need to be behind cover to have the time and state of mind to turn it on (probably not). If I had it to do it over I would rethink my decision and probably pay the difference. That being said the laser Max under barrel is good quality, mounts cleanly and does everything it is supposed to. Maybe if you want it for home defense you could flip it on in time.

Contours to the LCRX nicely enabling a revolver to accept a laser sight. Very bright laser reaches out quite a distance. I dislike that it uses the front frame bolt for mounting. I prefer to remove this bolt for cylinder removal during cleaning. I can't do this now without removing the Laser Max then remounting it and re sighting it. My biggest concern at this point is that the elevation and windage adjustments do not function properly. They are not smooth at all. I can turn the Allen quite a distance with no laser movement then at some point it jumps to far a distance. I had the laser aligned with a laser bore sighter. One squeeze of the trigger and the laser seemed to jump out of alignment. Again, adjustment is jumping all over the place but I think I have it realigned with the bore sighter and I will try adjusting at the range as well. 1 more try, if it continues to jump around during adjustment I will try to make arrangements with LaserMax to swap it out. They should have better quality control but for now a laser sight is useless if you can't adjust it for accuracy.Read full review

I have fired about 100 rounds with this on the LCR. Installation went without a hitch, and the unit is well made. it integrates beautifully with the frame. I noticed that it really jumped around a bit at first, every round seemed to bounce the spot somewhere else. After a few adjustments, it seemed pretty stable. This won't turn you into an expert shot, all the basics of hitting the mark still apply, but it does add some extra possibilities in terms of your tactics. It also adds the component of having the bad folks know exactly where that bullet will hit.
