Mostly great with one flaw
I bought two of these boxes and I am mostly satisfied. The box is made of a hard dark green plastic, which offers good protection for your items inside. There are three clasps to keep the lid securely closed and an internal gasket to seal against water intrusion. I love that there is also a mechanism through which one can add a small padlock to prevent unwanted access by thieves and/or children (if you store dangerous items). There is a small inlay-ed compass on the top of the lid, which appears to be a cool extra feature. However, both of the boxes I received had the compasses mounted crooked so that, when the boxes lay on a flat surface, the compass is tilted. In order to make the compasses usable, one would have to tilt the box at an angle in order to allow the dial to move freely. This renders the compasses unreliable because it leaves one wondering if the dial is truly pointing north or if it is just pointing some direction because of the tilt stopping its free movement. That being said, the box works great and I bought it to use as a box, not as a compass anyway. I also wish there was some internal padding so items inside would not rattle and move but I will add that myself later. All in all, it is a good solid box for storing items but I recommend buying a better compass if you are looking at using this for navigation.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
