The Livewire Dave Mustaine Active Pickup Set's active preamp allows higher gain and more output without losing tonal response and feel. The resonant frequency of both the bridge and neck pickups are intentionally matched with an SH-4 JB humbucker and an SH-2N Jazz Model respectively, so you get all the benefits of an active pickup without sacrificing the famous Seymourized organic tone. Low noise, discrete Class A circuitry can be operated at up to 25 volts for extremely high headroom. Low-profile coil geometry allows high efficiency and enhanced dynamics. Black nickel-plated cover offers a pro look and minimizes tonal coloration. Great for classic rock, punk, garage, thrash, old school metal, nu-metal, black metal and other heavy rock and aggressive music styles.

  • Great pickups

These pickups sound really good. I’ve seen other reviews that say they blow EMGs out of the water but that is just not true. EMGs and Seymour Duncan products are completely different flavors of the tone spectrum. These are some of the best sounding Seymour Duncan’s that I have tried. I dig the clarity, output, and low end chunk of these pickups and they have a definite place in the stable. It doesn’t mean I’ll replace any of my EMGs though. If you dig thrash, speed, etc then these are a great pickup.
