Wilson Combat makes superlative products. After just a little fitting this grip safety dropped right in and works great with my Commander hammer. After going through 2 other beavertail grip safeties, I finally got the right one for my NORINCO 1911a1. This is the only one that is advertised to fit this model of 1911a1 pistol. I just wish I had gotten this one the first go around. I highly recommend this product because it fits, period. It is a great value for the money spent and is of superior quality. What more could be said about Wilson Combat? From now on I will only use Wilson Combat products for my 1911a1 full size government (GI) pistol. Made the grip a more comfortable and controllable during recoil. It did require some minor fitting to work in my Colt. This entailed some filing to allow free movement in housing . Safety features operate as it did with factory part. Pleased with this grip safety . It would be great if it could be a true drop in but pistol frames vary to much between manufacturers. Beavertail grip safety. Works great, looks better
This is just the best upgrade, combined with a new hammer. Completely changed the feel & look of my 1911. Much better feel & high hand grip on the pistol. Looks fantastic too. Did have to do some fitting to make it engage properly, but a couple of YouTube videos showed me how & it was really easy. Highly recommend!

The beaver tail to get if you don’t want to modify
I used this drop in on my wife’s Auto Ordinance 1911 when I converted it to an EDC gun for her. I did not want to cut the radius in the frame because she is quite picky about the feeling of the safety. This dropped right in and functioned perfectly. I did a small amount of tuning to it after the fact just to tweak the gun in general. If you are looking for an excellent grip safety and either don’t want to modify your frame or don’t have the tooling to do it, I highly recommend this grip safety.

Finish and function were spot on. It took a little file work to make it function as it should, but that is to be expected with any 1911 part. This is not my first grip safety to install and probably will not be my last. If you do not know how or are not comfortable using hand tools, then I would suggest a gunsmith to install. This type of safety must be used with a commander or bobbed hammer and will require some sort of fitting to make it function correctly - if you understand these two ideas there should not be any negative reviews.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I bought this because I want a better grip on my 1911. I gave it four stars because this one is not really a drop in. Some fitting will have to be done and I bought the other parts to go with it. I just have to take them to a gunsmith to install them correctly. Just purchased the Bevertail Grip Safety Part No. 429BG also the Value Line Hammer Part No. 455B with the Value Line Sear Part No. 314C. It is not often a company supplies the parts as advertised, but I can only say that Wilson Combat is an exceptional company. The parts were for a Springfield Mil-Spec 1911 and they were truely drop-in parts. No fitting was required and my trigger pull went from 7-8 pound to 4.75 pounds.
