This is a high quality, low cost, very functional rifle holder for cleaning, working on, or installing riflescopes. It is very easy to use and serves as a great storage compartment for cleaning supplies. If you have a lot of rifles that require a lot of work and/or cleaning I recommend the Tipton Gun Vise. Or if you have AR platform rifles then I highly recommend the Tipton Best Gun Vise or the new Tipton Ultra Gun Vise. It does the job
I needed something to hold my rifles while working on them or cleaning. It works and does the job well for the price paid. I would like it better if one fork was taller than the other, or they offered the option of that when purchased at additional charge. The gun butler is a very useful tool. I bought to hold cleaning supplies and tools for weapons cleaning, but the first time i use it was a place to hold my rifle while I mounted a scope. It was sturdy enough for the job and seemed well balanced. If you just happen to knock it off the table on the floor it will not break. I like the multable compartment for supplies and lubricants. my gun butler
I received my gun butler and immediately put it to use. It worked good for holding my rifles. But the only negative that I found was the arms that hold the rifle would come out when you took the rifle loose to reposition it. My suggestion (what I did), I drilled a screw sized hole through the gun butler and the legs that hold the rifle. Then I put a screw through the gun butler and the legs which now will not come loose when you reposition your rifle. Now it works wonderfully. Any contents will fall out if you pick it up because the carry handle is not over the balance point. I would not call it portable because of this deficiency. It is only just OK for light cleaning because the upright forks wobble. I will use the tray part for something else and throw away the forks and suffer the loss.
