Whether one has Shimano 105, Ultegra or DuraAce drive trains, the best cable system for such is Shimano. There cable system is made specifically for there drive train systems. To save on cost I used what was suppose to be an equivalent brand, but no dice. Didn't really work the same, didn't feel that same and didn't perform the same. Sometimes it's worth spending the couple of extra bucks to purchase the real deal and get great performance, durability and functionality out of this cable system.

It was time to replace the cables on my bike and I chose Shimano cables for my Shimano components. The original cables were a little tight after adding a longer stem riser. I do most of the work on my bike myself and try and stick to Shimano parts for Shimano components. I'm sure if I had Sram components I would use Sram parts.
