Good Product, I think I can Improve, see photos and text

I am kind of an amature at welding, in spite of 6 years of experience working on a crazy car build project to turn a 40 Buick Super 4 door sedan into a 40 Buick Super Estate (Woodie) Wagon Hot Rod -- you know LS3 engine, 6 speed auto, PS, PS PB, AC. The real wagons are rare, but were probably build mostly from sedans. Anyway, my welding experience runs the gamut from new floor pans, lots of new body mounts because of rust, replacing fender sheet metal where it was rusted through and engine mounts and transmission crossmembers. I did all of this with a HF flux wire welder. Recently bought a used Lincoln welder (110 volt). It is better... So fast forward to me wanting to build some back seat supports that would allow the back seat to fold forward to facilitate storage, with stainless steel. I picked up some 3 inch x 3 inch x 1/4 inch SS angle iron. I wanted to weld some tabs on the ends. Practice welds on some of the scrap were not strong and broke with a hammer whack. My welder is under powered (85 watts) for 1/4 inch I think. I always V both sides of a butt joint. I found a technique by welding vertically that allows excess weld to flow away and let me bite into the V'ed area with the wire. Not satisfied, probably need a 135 amp welder like the new HF. Recently found a Blue Demon trial on on you tube, look for Blue Demon welding information. It was dated June 26, 2017: welding STAINLESS without gas. I need to try just a steady motion in a straight line like they showed. Maybe tomorrow. See my photos.

  • Top critical review

    Worst wire I've used

Does not feed properly and very very brittle ... If u try to straighten the wire to feed threw the rollers and into the guide it will snap and it is very tight almost to the point I can't tighten the tip without twisting to wire and I bought brand new .035 tips and tried multiple ones just in case I got a bad tip.

  • The weld quality are not as good as welding with a mild steel wire or a stainless with gas.

The weld quality are not as good as welding with a mild steel wire or a stainless with gas. There should have been some instructions about reversing the polarity. I would recommend it only for someone who is welding stainless on a very occasional basis, otherwise get the gas and do it right.

  • Blue Demon Gasless SS welding wire..

I just tried out this gas less .035 welding wire....kwl beans, this stuff is amazing...I prepared everything as I normally would for SS.....welded up some bike parts, and the welds looked perfect. Good penetration, clean and simple. The wire balls at the end, but it seems normal for this stuff....I just trimmed it up before each tack and weld. Thumbs up folks!

  • Extremely satisfied

I am not a professional welder but for the small jobs and at home projects I do it was a better deal than buying a tank and gas fill. Product performance was excellent as far as fluxcore wire goes. Shipping was also excellent with the wire arriving in half the time as expected. I will definitely purchase this in the future.

  • Blue Demon 308LFCO welding wire

Really easy to use flux cored wire. Very little spatter , great quality. The only negative is that there is no UK stockist of this product.

  • This is my first time using flux core for stainless steel.

I was very impressed with the results. Took a few steps to get the right wire speed, but once set this product is very easy to use. Results were better than I expected. I highly recommend this product, and will be purchasing many more in the future. The price is reasonable, shipping was days ahead of when the expected arrival date was given.

  • No gas 302 SS weld, works well

I neighbor wanted a 302 SS (restaurant type kitchen table) fixed. All legs had broken welds and could not stand on its on. Without gas, I welded the legs back on. Welds were not a stack of nickels, but were very strong and fixed the table. PS. I used my Lathe to re spool the wire onto suitable reel, so my Lincoln welder feed wire would would fit and function. Worked good.

  • This stuff is fantastic!

Best thing since sliced bread. I'm new to welding with a flux core wire welder and has spatter all over the place. Tried different things to eliminate this to not much success. Then I found the wire made for stainless steel.. my goodnesss! I have virtually no clean-up! It's just what my frustration management planner ordered!

  • Cheaper alternative to buying gas.

The weld strength is comparable to non flux, but doesn't look as nice. It still beats the price of having to buy special gas with a tank to weld stainless.
