Best Bet
You just can't beat this shaver for the money and maybe for any cost! This shaver outperforms any shaver I've ever had, including the high priced Braun model that supposedly cleans itself. Boy, that one was a waste of money! The 190s-1 will stay charged for five or six good shaves, if necessary, and I just run the head under water to clean it. The only draw-back is that you have to be very careful NOT to leave any water around the pins that the cord plugs into or else they will rust out and break off in the plug, (that's what happened to my first shaver!).Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

It seems unable to shave - using for parts
I bought a replacement for my 4 years old Series 1, cause the foil got so thin with the years that it started cracking. The new unit seems unable to shave, taking close to 10 minutes to have an unperfect shave, cause the blades seems not sharp enough. I ended putting the new foil on the old razor and now I'm able to shave me in less than 5 minutes. So disappointed.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great Shaver For The Money
There are a lot of electric shavers out there to choose from. Some are very expensive and work great, and some are far less expensive and do a really fine job, too. This one, the Braun 190s-1 is a much less expensive shaver that does a terrific job as far as I am concerned! The single foil head gets into those kind of hard to reach places easily, and the trimmer works extremely well, too. I get a great shave with this one, and don't find it to be somewhat underpowered at all, as some others have said. Someone with a very course and heavy beard that needs to use a nuclear powered unit might find this Braun not up to what they need, but I think the vast majority of us would be just fine with it. It is quiet and smooth and gives a close shave in my opinion, and is an extremely good value for the small amount of dollars spent. In fact, because you can find it at such a great price, I bought an extra one for the long term. I'm completely happy with it, and can't think of anything negative to say about it at all.
