  • Does the job

Compared to the other shotgun slug molds on the market this one is a bargain. It takes a little getting used to the correct way to use it, but the instructions are pretty well written. Make sure you use soft lead only in this mold to avoid casting problems. The aluminum mold blocks heat up quickly. It only takes two or three rejects before the mold cavity is sufficiently hot to completely fill. Build quality is very good with no metal flashing at the part lines of the mold blocks. The sprue cutter shears the nose of the slug pretty flat with little to no tear out at the sprue. There is a key bar that runs across the bottom of the slug. This allows a positive grip of the slug against the driving wad as it travels down the shotgun barrel. Rifled shotgun slug barrels can really take advantage of that feature as the slug is locked onto the wad while it engages the barrel's rifling. Pretty ingenious if you ask me. I would definitely recommend this mold to anyone who wants to make their own slugs without having to lay out a lot of cash for a mold.

  • Great mold, easy to use

Works great, clean it, lube it and smoke it you will have no problem. Just remember the actual slug weight depends on the purity of the lead you use.

  • Lee Slug Mold.

Very easy to use. Makes great slugs. Just remember to heat up the mold before the first pour. I use pure lead. But wheel weights can be used.. Great product.

  • Good mold, makes slugs

A nice mold. Comes right in at 1 ounce. If you haven't used this kind of mold before, its a bit tricky compared molds without interior features, but I gave is a coating of mold release and works great now.

  • great alternative that works with light target loads

Lee molds are vastly superior after being smoked with a candle flame, this turns out a honking large hollow point that will knock down elk or moose and certainly take deer. just carefully open a light load and remove the shot, slide this back and reseal it with some paraffin if you need to hold a conference with a grizzly this is a great reasoning tool.

  • Great value and function. Finished product is amazing!

Lee is still by far my favorite company for molds. Their sprue cutter is a stroke of genius.

  • ON TARGET

GREAT PRODUCT, AND PRICE. HARD TO FILL COMPLETELY AT FIRST WHEN MOLD WAS COLD. WORKS BETTER WHEN MOLD IS HOT, AND HAS BEEN USED A FEW TIMES. THE MORE IT IS USED THE SMOOTHER IT BECOMES.

  • 1 oz. shotgun mold

Works great as advertised you need pure lead to get your weight, used alloy but only ended up with 7/8 oz slugs.

  • Massive slugs

Takes a bit of warm up but once mold gets up to temperature, it really cranks out a Quality product, undervalued tool, worth more than what I paid
