Tom Tom Verses Inbuilt Sat Navs
I have just purchased a Volvo V40 (2013) with an inbuilt Sat Nav, absolute Rubbish.
There is no Comparison between Inbuilt and stand alone. I had my Volvo updated so that I can now input Maps via a USB port, it does take a long time, I guess 4 hours for the Map update is about right, but you know its things like Speed Cameras average speed, Red light cameras, Overspeed alterts etc etc etc which are NOT on my Inbuilt. its also an easy setting to show Kilometres on the Tom Tom display. I do drive quite a lot in Europe.
The Tom Tom has a fantastic App for your Smart phone where you can pre arrange a Route which then gets sent to the Tom Tom device via the internet. Its always on and does not cost for Data. I would say its the best option.
So many people are hoodwinked by Car Manufacturers, Inbuilt Sat Navs. just are not good enough for my use.
I totally recommend this product.
