everyone in the world should read this book- smallpox biowarfare is coming. preston wrote this book 20 years ago. he explains that SMALLPOX is the bioweapon of choice for a lot of reasons. russia sold their stocks of smallpox bioweapons to several countries. these would be delivered by ICBMs. now, in 2021, the smallpox threat is worse than ever. you cannot get a vaccine for love nor money. only the military, some police, and some frontline workers are going to be allowed vaccinations. this is a matter of when, not if. it's coming. this could easily kill billions of people. the living will envy the dead.

Richard Preston continues to be one of my favorites. This novel, along with his other success, The Hot Zone, should, in my opinion, be featured in science classes across the nation. While they contain technical terms and procedures, Preston makes sure to write in such a way that even a person completly unfamiliar with biology will understand. While I felt that The Hot Zone was more of a page turner, The Demon in the Freezer is horrifically captivating and pertinent.
