Lightweight, great condition, good battery life
For a simplified version of a MacBook, this unit works exactly as I had hoped it would: it can operate most tasks without any lag issues, the battery life is pretty solid, the unit is as small and lightweight as an iPad, and it works great with my other Apple products. For frequent heavy duty tasks like graphic design with Adobe Creative Cloud or music production, you’ll probably want a MacBook Pro if you don’t want there to be any hangups, but the 12” MacBook is going to provide most light to medium usage users with everything they need to get through the day, and then some. More powerful that you might think!
I bought this device to replace a 2014 15" MacBook Pro as my carry around computer. I work for the local court system and am in an out of court, two offices and a home office. This is has been a perfect little work horse for what I do in court and my offices (except for home). I can easily run Parallels with a VPN and IE, a couple of Safari tabs, the Notes app, a couple of Word and Excel documents, and my email client. Honestly, I run out of RAM before it puts any strain on the processor. Depending on what you do, the M3 model is a bit anemic but the M5 is solid. I dabble in some audio and video work but I have an iMac in my home office for that. If you do any type of creative work, I would more recommend the MacBook Pro line. However, for most day to day users, the MacBook is a solid selection. My only gripe is price but as the technology matures, I'm sure that will improve.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
