With this beautiful memoir written by the late, great Tony Hillerman I am NOT disappointed at all. Just to hold this beautiful book in my hands gives me a feeling of the greatness of the man who was a Native American, a Navajo to be exact, and who wrote such intriguing stories of the areas in southern Utah and Arizona that he called home. He based his stories there and as you drive through that area you can see the splendor that he writes about; the small towns, the livestock roaming free, the people dressed as they did a hundred years ago. You can stop at roadside stands by the Monument Valley High School and purchase authentic Navajo items directly from the person that made them instead of junk imported from somewhere. These people are simple are hard working and their faces are creased with smiles. They will tell you stories just as Tony Hillerman did in his fantastic books. I am so excited to own this one -- his memoir.Read full review
