Beyond Mombasa (Columbia Pictures DVD-R)
Not bad mid-'50s color, British-US made jungle adventure. A ne'er-do-well guy arrives in Africa and finds out his brother, who had asked him to join him, has been murdered. Now he has no lack of suspects who are also interested in some valuable mine the murdered man had found. Filmed in Africa and partly on the soundstage. Has the novelty, for the time, of having a liberated woman on hand. At the end though she gives up a lucrative position for the hero. Now that was typical for the '50s. Colorful, entertaining, an OK time-passer. The Columbia Pictures DVD-R is very good quality. Recommended.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
