I missed Season One, and I originally started watching Blue Bloods at the beginning of Season Two because of Donnie Wahlberg's magnificent performance at Sgt. Carwood Lipton in "Band of Brothers". He brings an intensity to what ever role he plays, and is believable in "Blue Bloods" as Irish NYPD detective Danny Reagan. But after watching all of Season Two, and enjoying the entire family of Reagans, I was hooked! Each family member contributes to the family story and to the police cases they are involved with. Len Cariou as Grandfather Henry and Tom Selleck as Police Commissioner Frank Reagan bring stability and authority and help anchor the family, along with Danny's wife Linda (Amy Carlson). Bridget Moynihan as ADA Erin Reagan-Boyle lends another side to the family, aiding and advising (and sometimes opposing) her police brothers Danny and rookie Jamie (Will Estes). Rounding out the family cast members is a very intense Sami Gayle as Erin's daughter Nicky and real-life brothers Tony and Andrew Terraciano as Danny and Linda's sons Jack and Sean Reagan. Two other performances are also top-notch and should be noted, that of Jennifer Esposito as Danny's partner Jackie Curatola and Nick Tuturro as Jamie's training officer and partner Sgt.Anthony Renzulli. Both bring a real, honest NYPD flavor to the show. All in all, great performances, a great crime drama and a heartwarming family drama as well. I highly recommend this series, I bought Season One based on my enjoyment of Season Two, and I have already ordered Season Two as soon as it comes out!Read full review
