I love this show! I'll admit, I was less than impressed with the first season. I didn't care for the Martha's personality. Tall, supposed-to-be beautiful (Beckett is much prettier in all the following seasons), mysterious, headstrong detective gets stuck with a ruggedly handsome, rich, charismatic author (a slight spin in Bones), and together they solve crime. Castle helps her solve cases she wouldn't have been able to solve without him (but somehow managed her entire career before meeting him). They instantly have a magnetic love-hate attraction which will likely carry on for years until they eventually get together but most likely not until after the writers drive it into the ground and the viewers no longer care (i.e., Bones). It didn't strike me as unique enough to watch the rest of the series but after watching it again but with my husband he wanted to see the rest. I then purchased the whole series at an awesome price and have officially been hooked since watching season 2. Beckett has a great personality with with a sense of humour. She's classy, not snobby; intelligent, not awkward; headstrong, still approachable; driven, not ambitious; has some baggage, not issues; Funny, not a clown. I do think the writers took too long getting them together but I would not have purchased the series (spolier?) if I didn't already know they got married. Then I feel they ruined the romance after they got together. They barely show any pda because they must be professional at the office, they STILL CALL EACH OTHER "BECKETT" AND "CASTLE" which REALLY annoys me. My husband and I were in the military together 10 years ago and once we became "more than partners" we were on a first name basis. Sometimes we use nicknames (like Rick or Ricky is to Richard), but we stopped using last names. Spoiler?: I also don't like how Beckett throws away her entire FBI career to become a detective again; that was very out of character. I also don't like when shows like this are always endangering the lives of the main characters. How many times does a person almost die, or kidnapped, or steps on a bomb, or buried alive in their line of work? Nowhere near as often as they do on tv. Later on, Esposito and Ryan (two fellow homicide detectives) treat Castle like crap. They only do things for him for favors when he has been nothing but good to them. Esposito is prior SF (when has that back story not been used in a show?). My biggest complaint is really how the writers murdered the romance after "Caskett" finally got together. Castle is all in love with her but then he starts to take advantage of her (PS4 over sex, etc), he doesn't want to talk about their future together, they make it apparent that she's not feeling special anymore by introducing other men who make her special, indicating a lack-of-interest from Castle. The guy followed her around for 4 years and was always there for her and after then finally get together he starts to treat her like any other normal romance commonly goes? NO WAY. They should've kept them hot and steamy for a while and then mellowed and matured them as a strong couple in time. But the writers didnt do that; no wonder they are currently experiencing viewer fatigue. I mean, on their first weekend get away as a real couple, Castle gets distracted by solving a murder instead of having sex with the woman he has been chasing for four years! Really? No show is perfect, but with all that being said, I still give this show 5 stars! Martha is amended to be a more responsible and considerate woman in season 2, Castle has a very close relationship with his daughter and with Beckett. Beckett doesn't let her skeletons hold her back for too long and she dives head first into her relationship with Castle. I love that! She gives him a drawer, moves in with him, wants to get married, and always puts him first. They may have taken 4-5 years to get together but they are only engaged for half that time and get married, no hesitations (well, thus far. I am only in season 6 right now). I also love how in season 6 they are on fire for each other and playful with one another. They say I love you (took forever for Kate to say it back to Castle). The episodes are fun! I love the ones with the man from the future, the vampire one, the fairy tale princess one, the steampunk 1800s England one, the CIA/SPY ones are always FUN. there are too many episodes to count of fun, unique story-lines that have been put together very well. I love this show and would recommend it to anyone. I'm not sure how much longer I'll watch it as they inevitably ruin these things when run too long but I hope they have something extraordinary in mind to keep the show alive for a few more years of ENJOYABLE entertainment (not just watching it bec you've watched it this long so you may as well finish it). But, hey, if Bones and Grey's Anatomy can still be running after all this time than maybe they'll keep this one going a few more years with something outstanding.Read full review

Whether true or not about the rumors of two key stars not getting along, "Castle" was ruined by ABC when they cut Stana Katic from a possible Season 9. Also, why was this DVD set without Stana's commentary as only on Season 1 and what's with no BluRay edition?

If you like Castle then you will love the cd set. Characters have been well-developed and are very likable. High action. Sometimes Castle the man is an idiot but he has a maturity level of a ten year old. Beckett is flawless. Too bad show will have no new episodes. I really like Esposito and Ryan. Would love to see a show with them.

The plot unfolds with its usual twists and turns. I enjoyed the unfolding of the sub themes ( Castle's disappearance for 2 months) and finally getting married that took a whole season to accomplish. Looking forward to season 8. It continues to be well written and amazing that a writer can provide insight into unfolding the truth to solve murders. It is interesting to see how the other characters of Castle begin to deepen. Very enjoyable.

Castle is a good series for drama and entertaining you with the Characters interactions to each other . One of the main characters will keep you off balance with the witty comments that will have you laughing. The series also has a love story that develops from season one .
