This rehash first made by Disney as a serial for "The Mickey Mouse Club", is nothing but dated pop hokum. It gives teen idol Shaun Cassidy a venue to sing his tiresome pop songs in the middle of some fairly interesting mystery plots. Classics never date, but this 1978 2nd season release is more of a relic of bygone era. One redeeming feature is the guest star cast of seasoned TV and motion picture pros. I never viewed season one, but if it anything like this, I'm skipping it. The acting by the leads is so-so. Shaun Cassidy does surprisingly well in his role of the younger Hardy Boy--Joe. Pamela Sue Martin as Nancy Drew (who is only in a few episodes then is played by another actress) walks around with a perpetual chip on her shoulder she thinks is acting and Parker Stevenson, is Parker Stevenson--wasting his energy appearing to look like a hunk. The transfer is good, but should be better. I have seen much older material that has had a far superior remastering then this series. The picture quality is at times grainy and the soundtrack falters up and down. For those who loved some of drivel that came out of this era, will definitely enjoy this. It is better than "The Love Boat"--and that's not saying much.Read full review
I had been searching different web sites and had been looking everywhere on Ebay for this item for not only an ebayer I could trust but one with the best price. This Ebayer cannot be beaten! They are truly outstanding in communication and service!! I am a HUGE Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew fan dating (myself LOL) back to when the series first ran...I cannot believe it has been over 30 years, but as far as I am concerned they are as fresh as that very first day. I cannot wait, especially on these cold winter nights, to pop in my dvd, ease back on my pillow and relive those carefree days as Shaun wiggles his hips and his melodic 'dreamy' tunes lull me to a relaxing trip back to the days of yesteryear well at least the 70's. I hope others will get the opportunity I did! All my best, Cherril.Read full review
Hardy Boys Nancy Drew Mysteries Season 2 has more of Nancy and the Hardy Boys doing cases together vs Season 1 where they were separate but this season is in opinion better and its a shame universal will not release season 3 of the series even though there is only ten episodes but it would be nice to complete this set. They do the same thing with Alfred Hitchcock Presents but anyway this is a good series.
my all time classic since a kid need entire collection
