This record storage crate looks pretty in the photos, but that’s as far as the positive things about it stop. The quality of the 1/4” luan/balsa wood that was used to make this crate is subpar at best. The joints were not cleaned properly which creates a very poor fit and finish, only compounding the overall lack of sturdiness this crate has. After cleaning the joints and beating this broken crate together, I would be scared to use it for a waste bin, let alone for storing hundreds of dollars worth of records. This cheap knock-off record storage crate is definitely not worth more than $15 assembled. I would NOT recommend this item to anyone who wants to take care of their record collection. Additionally, the item was wrapped and packaged very well, shipped in a box inside of a box and was still broken when I received it. Anyone who is still reading this review, save yourself the money and the headache. Do NOT purchase this crate. Instead - build one out of 3/4” plywood, glue, pin nail and then countersink screws to hold it all together. Brace the corners with vertical runners from the outside (instead of the inside like most crates are designed) to prevent any warping of your records.Read full review
