Beautiful turntable with performance that rivals Vintage tables.
Prior to owning a the Fluance RT83, I had a Teac TN 300 SE which is great turntable with midrange specs at a entry level price. Sadly that turntable didn't match my system and I didn't care for the walnut vinyl wrap on the Teac's MDF plinth. I have always loved sleek design of Fluance turntables. I considered a Fluance RT80, but the Teac TN 300 SE offered a better cartridge the Audio Technica AT95N and was 80 dollars less. The RT80 only had AT91, and I heard the RT80 had speed control issues with its motor. I regretted the purchase Teac TN 300 because of finicky preamp and I didn't like feel of it.
So I decided get a Fluance which is what I orignally wanted to get in the first place. I wanted to get real upgrade from the Audio Technica Cartridges that I am accustomed to. I chose to get the RT83 with a Ortafon Red cartridge it definitely sounds a lot better than than Audio Technica ones I normally use to. The Fluance RT83 only has a wow and flutter of 0.07% while my Teac TN300 has a wow and flutter of 0.2%. A wow and flutter of 0.07% is impressive for modern turntable and comparable vintage midrange tables from 40 to 50 years ago. I would recommend the RT82 to RT85 to anyone looking for a modern turntable that matches the performance of a vintage turntable from gold age of vinyl.
