Very sensitive little recorder, the two mics are arranged for a good "field" and as small as it is, the interface and display is quite easy to get along with. The instructions are somewhat deficient (such has how to delete a recorded file...you have to sort of extrapolate that). The biggest improvement they could make is to design it with a better way to mount it on something. You want the thing directionally pointed AT you, and your instrument, but it is very hard to get that by laying it on a table, etc....it won't stand on its end much. I ended up tying it to a table mic stand with a couple rubber bands. Enabling mounting to a little stand of some sort would help a LOT. Other than that, I very much recommend it.

Wanted the H1n for a while now and this supplier did not disappoint. Great price however the sealed batteries supplied were dead. Being it was a used unit just removing them before shipment would have been acceptable. Using the sealed batteries supplied and turning on the H1n getting nothing gave me the thought of a non operational unit. However, fresh batteries powered on the unit.

I have an old Sony 8mm video camera without a mic input on it, and needed a way to update my audio in videos! So this was the perfect solution to that!!

I've used it for a month, and found it quite helpful in working out things on the guitar. Fits in the compartment of all my hard-shell guitar cases, so it's there when I want it - no fuss with set up, and it's available wherever I want to play. It has been completely reliable to date, and the battery life is excellent. Not surprisingly earphones are necessary (it has a tiny built-in speaker but one can't hear much with it), but inexpensive in-ear earphones work well, and let me hear everything I want. Obviously it doesn't have the fidelity or flexibility of larger and much more expensive professional recorders, but that's not what it's for. Good show, Zoom!

I suppose there are a lot of reasons to buy this item, personal musical recording etc but for a videographer this provides both a hard copy of recorded sound with a choice of running a line straight into your camera or when there is no headphone jack in your DSLR you can use the recorder as a monitor. Either way it is a videographers best simple and portable back up system. Every videographer should have one. I've even used it as a lavaliere mic in a pinch. Very versatile.

The Zoom H1n helped me to realize my house was haunted after it captured spooky ghosts and demon voices through out my house. Then I realized why my daughter went from screaming in the middle of the night, to eventually speaking in backwards languages when she was hovering above her bed. Thanks Zoom you're the best.

Is really easy to use, user fiendly, i wish it was metal build or a more robust plastic, it has nice options but you need to be aware on your noise settings to get high quality sound

Better than the H1 in several respects. Much, much, much faster start up, and just as faster when saving a file after you hit stop to end a recording; more convenient buttons; and nice to have a mic sensitivity knob on the front rather than a rocker pot. Jury's out on self-noise. I've recorded a few cuts with it that sounded a hissy, but others sounded fine. More experimentation is in order on that score. If I get that ironed out, I'll be completely happy with it. I'm going to assume I will, so I've given it five stars. The one real drawback on the H1 is that it takes a good while to be ready to record after you turn it on. This is ready within a very few seconds, and that can be the difference between capturing important sound and missing it.

I really like the quality of the recordings and the weight of the whole thing! I find the speakers - when checking quickly the recording - very aweful though...It's totally necessary to connect it to a laptop before knowing, if the quality of the recording is good or not.
