This is my first projector which I set up in a windowless room with a white 100 inch Silver Ticket screen. The picture is stunning, clear, and immersive. Has decent contrast but don't expect inky blacks. I found some recommended picture settings online which I followed. The reviews don't do this justice, it's a great entry level projector and I think it hits a sweet spot for cost vs quality at least for full HD units. Keep in mind the HDMI ports are 1.4 not 2.x and I'm pretty sure the unit itself does not support HDR. Eco mode was plenty bright (middle setting) for my set up, the fan is whisper quiet and stays that way even after a 2 hour movie. Both zoom and keystone came in handy after mounting it on the ceiling. One issue I had is that the mounting holes are closer to the front of the projector so if you're mounting, the unit will be back heavy. I had issues with it slowly tilting back but that could just be due to the mount I purchased. Overall no regrets.Read full review

I upgraded my budget projector in hopes of resolving the spot that develops in the middle of the screen after a while with cheaper models. I read good things about BenQ so bought one. The picture is good, though smaller than what I got from the cheaper ones at the same distance. The sound is also good but it's lowest level is substantially louder than I usually select for my viewing. It also lacks Bluetooth and wifi capabilities so I can't connect my speakers or use other advanced practices I had become used to. Overall, I think it was overpriced (2x my previous projectors). Only time will tell if the picture experiences the same spot which motivated my purchase.

We've owned ours since December of 2018, and it has worked beautifully ever since. Bright, low latency (input lag) for gaming, excellent color, contrast, and black levels--especially for the price, it's very hard to find a projector with the performance of this one! We put just over 4500 hours on the bulb it came with, but it was still decently bright with no visible performance issues. Easy to use, either on a table or with a ceiling mount, and quick to set up. Benq does a great job of configuring it from the factory, so it's absolutely fine out of the box with little to no adjustment required for pleasing color balance. We attached ours via the HDMI port to a 5.1 surround amplifier and speakers, for full-immersion Blu-Ray movies or streaming TV. The SmartEco mode was our choice for lamp setting; it delivers good brightness, yet uses less energy and maximizes bulb life. It is neither heavy nor bulky, so it transports well in its original carton. This is the sort of PJ you can take with you on vacation for projecting on a portable screen, or even take outdoors for movie night on a sheet or other white surface. It has a stereo mini-plug for attaching a small stereo amp and speakers. On a 120-inch screen 10 feet away, the quality of the image is sharp, bright, and colorful-- friends have asked if it is 4K.Read full review

Like all the reviews I've read before buying this product, I still think it is the best projector you can find under 1000$ and looks even better than some who are more expensive. It is definitely not the less bulky and you have to be careful where do you want to install it and make your researches about that.
