Big improvement, but....
I'm no gun smith, and I was able to easily install this kit myself with the instructional video on YouTube from Apex. Definitely a huge improvement over the original trigger pull weight, but it did require some modification. By doing a quick search online I've found this isn't uncommon for this kit, I needed to file down a small amount of material off the back of the new trigger in order to get it to fire correctly, the trigger would hit the lower frame before engaging the firing mechanism which wouldn't allow it to shoot. I was very worried at first, but after finding many had the same issue and that it was an easy fix, I was quite pleased with the results. Still, something like this really shouldn't need modification like this, but overall I'm still happy.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good for range gun not self defense
It worked as described lighter trigger. Shorter pull but had two light primer hit failure to fire. A self defense hand gun that is not 100 present reliable is of little to no value. It Han never had a failure of any kind unto I installed this kit. So if you want a light trigger range gun that may occasionally miss fire this kit is for you. Parts are machined poorly and need to be modified usually according to Apex themselves
So I put mine in and everything worked for the most part but there wasn't enough rearward travel to drop the sear unless I mashed the trigger down and still sometimes it had a serious delay. Double and triple checked my install and everything was in it's proper place. This time the trigger wouldn't release the striker and it was locked up until I mashed the trigger n banged the sear loose. Then looked online and contacted Apex Tactical and they told me that it often needs to be modified in 1 of 2 or maybe both ways often. I decided to return it and buy a brand that machines accurate n precise parts because that's what firearms call for in my opinion. Don't plan on buying from Apex again unfortunately. The innacurate dimensions and the fact that they know about it and don't seem to care or just expect customers to modify the part doesn't give me much confidence in any of thier other products quality or precision. At least be transparent that the part will likely have to be modified so people know what they're getting into so they don't waste their time like I did.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Effective, simple upgrade
Very nice kit and all the parts needed for success. The only challenge was removing material from the inside corner of the trigger due to slight manufacturing variation of both the trigger and the lower receiver. This is normal. Love The New Trigger
Purchased the Apex Action Enhancement Kit for my S&W SD9VE which has a notoriously long, hard trigger pull. After watching highly detailed installation videos I completed the install myself although I did not replace the factory sear spring. I was hoping for a much shorter trigger pull but it still seems long. It did lighten the trigger pull so I do believe it is an improvement over the factory trigger and it is affordable. Note: my kit did not include an installation "pin" to help with reassembly and it can be challenging getting that retention pin back through the new trigger and trigger spring. Suggest using a small punch from the opposite side to help get everything lined up. I was not impressed when I dry fired it. It seemed as though the new trigger was bottoming out but once I was able to actually range test it I was impressed. The new trigger feels good and did not require any modifications as some other users have stated. I would have given it five stars if Apex had included a dummy "pin" for the reassembly.

Everything worked except the trigger...
I had trouble installing the trigger spring. It was actually the hardest part to install but with a small paper clip I managed to install it. They should add a tool atleast to make it a little easier. Also the new trigger made didn't work out as I hoped for. Sometimes pulled sometimes it didnt. I had to pull the trigger all the way back for it to work. So I just went with the original and it works great. Cant wait to shoot it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Apex Trigger Kit
Honestly it is a big difference from its original trigger, I would highly recommend getting the whole kit at once that way you have a smooth and steady trigger pull. I took it to a gun smith just because it didn’t cost much to install it and the good thing about it is that he didn’t have to file the trigger in other reviews I saw.

Bad trigger.
The gun would hold back with ammo still in the magazine. Could not put in loaded mag. and rack it in. The slide stayed back. Turned out to be the trigger after much testing that was the problem. Install
Install went well. Parts fit like OEM components. Look up how to videos on YouTube to make this build easy. The trigger and slide release were the most difficult part, but it went together once I got it right. After shooting, the trigger felt more natural than when it was stock and my grouping was a lot tighter.
