A bad example, or.... ?
My example wouldn't go down over the receiver without force--didn't do the anodizing any good. It appears the rear hole wasn't threaded either, as the bolt just spins. However, I was able to make it work on a 20ga Mossberg that I have. It almost appears this was meant for a 20ga receiver, but I don't see that Aimtech makes one. Fits a normal barrel mossberg 500 with ease. Sits a tight on the reciever so be carefull putting it on as it will scratch the finish. Use a torque wrench or hold the short side of the allen key or you will strip out the bolts as they thread into aluminum, tightened to 15in-lbs with red loctite. To fit a mossberg 590 you have to cut out a 1cm wide slot where the bolt slides, and remove quite a bit of material from where it hits the top of the receiver.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
