Supplied with overseas adaptor
Haven't even been able to power it up. Arrived and was keen to get it setup and of course even though it is supplied from MELBOURNE it has an EU plug and not even an adaptor! After inquiring about getting an adaptor I was told I have to go drive to JB HIFI (sure no problem....) and purchase one myself. If you are going to run a business within AUSTRALIA you need to make sure your products are actually usable in AUSTRALIA. I can understand if I was buying this from china (like I could for $40 less for the same unit) but I always try and choose locally so I DO NOT have to deal with this kind of rubbish. Great android box which performs exceptionally well and super fast. Don’t be fooled by the specs. Sure, there’s plenty of cheap unbranded Chinese knock-offs which offer higher specs but because they all don’t run official licensed software made specifically for the unit those units take 5 seconds or more between remote control clicks. This unit is just as sharp and quick as any Apple TV when it comes to navigating around he screen. Google Play store offers an abundance of choice, and unlike Apple TV you can side load whatever app you can find. It simply hits the mark with performance and price. Small with great features.
This is a great little device, if you want to turn your TV into a smart TV then this is what you need . I had overhead projection for a long time, and this is now a smart overhead projection , just plug into your tv follow direction. The remote is small and you press the button on it and ask google to change channel or what the weather will be it talks to you and puts it on your screen. Great little box for Kodi
I was looking for a replacement for the WDTV Live (specifically a box that could play x265 content) and stumbled across this little unit. Very easy to set up out of the box and runs the latest version of Kodi with ease. The remote having a microphone is a godsend for searching things via youtube. This thing is fantastic and i will be buying a few more to replace my other WDTVs. Setup was easy, works with a usb to ethernet adapter if you dont want to use Wifi like I did. Neat , nice looking and responsive. Has voice activated search which is great for people who can't write searches for You Tube videos. Good....but!
Pros: Nice gear, OTA update to Oreo available from Marshmallow. Cons: Oreo still has bugs; - update did not complete correctly requiring an android boot from root to update via manual files obtained. Other users get this, but not all. - this Oreo version for Mi constantly disrupts wifi and hence streaming. There is no LAN port without using a usb/ethernet dongle and attaching to wired network. Good things come in small packages!
This is an amazing little box. Doesn't have lots of memory but is legit Android and gets updates. It's smooth, fast and just works. Once Kodi was installed, I found a whole new world. The last 2 days were spent just exploring the possibilities, thank God for YouTube. The down sides are finding functional APK's and researching the endless number streaming services.
