I bought this as a cheap alternative to buying a brand-new laptop, and I love it...It is heavy but well-constructed compared to my last "thin" laptop, which developed cracks in the chassis after 1 year of use...Yes this is an older laptop, but the graphics and screen are far superior to my 3 year old laptop. Yeah this is definitely a better buy...Has 4 gigs of DDR5 graphics memory...Ram can be upgraded to 32 gigs, although mine is at 24 right now but I will not upgrade it further ...This laptop does not support DirectX 12 therefore cannot install windows 11 but that is no issue right now for me anyway. Sometimes older is better!!

This is a dream notebook for someone who wants ultimate power and capability (instead of small and lightweight). First ordered a G4 version for a client - fastest machine I've ever been on. The G2 was reasonably priced, very good condition, quad i7 proc, 256G PCIe SSD, 1TB HD, nVidia 4GB video. Like having my HP Z220 quad Xeon workstation that I'm typing this on but portable. Also bought a Docking Station for it. This will be my go-to machine for carrying to client sites (on PC, have a MacBook Pro for the Mac OS sites) for quite a while. Put in a 1TB SSD, and use the HD as built in image backup. (long battery life is relative to the power involved, but this one will be plugged to AC most of the time)

Very large screen and the full keyboard makes this one of the best laptops for 'stay at home' use because it is very heavy. But with 16GB of RAM and a SSD, it is fast...
