I got my Philips Norelco SensoTouch Shaver in mid-2012. I used the original blades for two years until the point they were not cutting well at all. To be honest I tried the cheap Chinese replacement blades in 2014, but they were not a big improvement over the old dull blades. This time (February 2016) I decided to try a brand new genuine Norelco replacement head. It is rather expensive compared to buying generic blades, but after I tried shaving with the new head... WOW!. The shaver is cutting like new again, fast, sharp, and close. I was so impressed that I wrote this review. I highly recommend the genuine Norelco replacement head. If you don't shave every day, you can stretch these heads (blades) to last a couple years, but they do get dull and shaving takes much longer. Also I recommend rinsing or washing the head after every use. Norelco has their own cleaning system which I'm sure works great, but here is what I do: I remove the head, rinse it, then hold it in my hand, squirt some liquid soap into it, and rinse it with hot water while rubbing the outside of the blade cups a little. Then I blow or rinse out the hair from the main unit. Then I let the head and main unit air dry. Bottom line is this: while the cheap generic Chinese replacement blades may be a better than old dull blades, once in a while buy a genuine Norelco head (with blades) and your shaver will cut much better (like new).Read full review

I don't know if the product was an OEM product or something just made to resemble the original. I have used Phillips Norelco shavers for 50+ years without any problems with replacement parts ever. What I received looked like OEM product but in reality was the most HORRID shaver blades I have ever tried to use. I could get a better shave with a sheet of sandpaper. They will not cut and all they do is pull the whiskers out. I have no idea whether the product is bad, returned old product, a clever knockoff, or what, but is totally UN-usable. Good thing I kept the old head & shaving blades, now am back to using the old part I needed to replace. These shaver heads/blades are very expensive when replacing them. To get this kind of product from a well known/respected company is unbelievable!! The Ebay supplier could have been supplying a knockoff or a original product, this I will never know. what is sure I am out my money and will probably be buying a competing brand of shaver to use. Neither the supplier or manufacturer have responded to my inquiry. Read full review

I've been a fan of Norelco from the first one they marketed. My first razor was a ...... but I changed to Norelco the first time I saw it. That was about 60 years ago, and I've never used anything else since. I did try a knock off competitors brand, but I was back to Norelco before a month had passed. I am now 78, and I don't intend to ever make a change. I get a new one every two years, and I still have the old ones packed away somewhere in case of an emergency - like dropping it in a bowl of water!

If you have a "normal" or "coarse" beard, DO NOT throw out your shaver head and replace it with the new RQ12+. With RQ12+ my shaving time went from 3 minutes to over 15 minutes. The "S" shaped entries of the new blades push hair away from the blades. I will agree that RQ12+ swiveling design is superior and is more gentle on sensitive skin. And it may cut fine hairs just fine, however For most beards, the best thing out there is Norelco's Dual Precision blades, which have been on shavers for over 10 years up until the RQ12+. Buy RQ11 blades if you can. If you already discarded your RQ11 blade carrier, they are being made and sold on EBay by Chinese factories. This is probably the biggest indicator that the RQ12+ is a failure. Norelco: Offer Dual precision Blades for the RQ12+ body design, and you will again have the best shaver ever.Read full review

This product is not a real factory product but put in a norelco box that appears to be real. The blades don't cut anything. I called Norelco but no support from them on there brand name replacement head. This product is half the price from the one Norelco sells. Should of know better but i got taken.
