Windows 10 OEM software.
This is an OEM version of WIndows 10. The jacket the DVD is in says it is to be used by people who make PCs for sale, and isn't intended to be used by individuals. So what? I had a freshly formatted HD to install on, but the installer said it couldn't be installed on that drive. So, I deleted the partition and let Windows installer do what it wanted. It created 4 partitions and installed the OS. It shows activated and genuine and looks and acts like any other Win 10 install. Only thing I can figure is that these folks bought in bulk. The price is much less than a consumer packaged version, but you get real Windows 10. It took hours to do all the updates, so don't expect to install it and start using it right away. I normally use bit torrent to download Windows versions and hack the activation, but this time, I decided to take the easy out. It wasn't free, but it was pretty much a no hassle install. Windows 10 is still a dog.
I hate Windows 10, but with support ended for Windows 7, my only other options were windows 8.1 which is worse or Linux. Some Linux distros are nice, but I use too many windows programs to be able to make the switch at this time. Windows 10 is no where near as intuitive as Windows 7 or even Vista. Altering Windows 10 to make it productive can be done, but it's a pain in the butt. Upgrading seems to work a little better than a clean install, so the best solution is to do a fresh install of 7, set it up as you like and then do the upgrade. This is most valuable when you have multiple PCs networked together. I have 5 that have to talk to each other as well as one that acts as a server/NAS for the others. Everything worked fine with XP, 2000 and Vista with a slight hiccup with 7. Windows 10 was a nightmare to upgrade to. Edited on 04/0422: An additional warning I just upgraded two of my systems to Dell XPS 8930. Windows 7 will not even install on these machines. Microsoft and Intel have dropped all support for Win 7 on chips newer than Skylake, so all Core iX systems above the 6000 series must be loaded with windows 10 or above. I'd guess that Linux will be a pain to configure also, thanks to secure boot.Read full review

As good as 7 in my opinion
I went from windows 7 pro 64 bit to 10 pro 64 bit. It does have a bunch of differences but also has the feel of 7. I was able to navigate through settings and other aspects pretty easy and im no computer guru. I basically upgraded simply because I seen somewhere that Microsoft is going to quit supporting windows 7. I think all in all it is a good OS.

I installed this and was skeptical about it being legitimate. I used the product key and it installed just fine. Furthermore it did activate via internet to the manufacturer's computer! Loads and works just as you would expect from an OEM version of Windows
This is just what you expect from an OEM version of Microsoft Win 7. It loads without a hitch and accepts a valid Win 7 license. You will need to go online after getting the software loaded, and then download the drivers needed for your specific brand and model of computer. That will be followed by well over 100 windows updates to download and install. Once all this is completed the computer will function just as it did the day it was new.

Summation...I would not recommend the use of this product except on a brand new, totally blank hard drive.
It was easy to install...HOWEVER..I wanted to install it on my laptop but it would NOT load. It did load easily on my home computer...HOWEVER..it wiped out every program I had on the hard drive. I had to RE-LOAD MicroSoft Office and Quicken and other programs. It will NOT activate...it says that it has already been activated on another computer....my laptop?.... And it freezes frequently....could be my computer.....or not.... I am living with the lack of activation, but should not have to..... All in all, although the answers to your questions are yes, my experience with this product is less than satisfactory.

Very simple to install
I am running Windows 10 Professional on my MSI GE72 Pro Gaming laptop. I configured to be a dual boot with Windows 7 Professional. My installation is a little different than most, because I am running two OS on this laptop. Once I tell Windows 10 what drive to install on, the installation process is very straight forward. Windows 10 Pro is built with not much security in mind. Therefore, I have to go and locked down the OS, so it won't send data back to Microsoft for tracking purposes. There are videos on Youtube and links on the Internet that walk an intermediate PC user on how to do this. Overall, I am very pleased with Windows 10 Professional. As for the GUI, I have mine to configure to look like the past Windows OS, excluding windows 8, with the start bar. You still have the tiles appearance from Windows 8. The software end of life for mainstream support doesn't end until 10/13/2020. The end of life for extended support doesn't end until 10/14/2025. I am sure that Microsoft will push out a new version of Windows, prior to the end of mainstream support.Read full review

Don't do it if you have any favorite apps.
Win 10 Pro is real slick. It goes in like it was greased with K-Y jelly. Once it's automatically installed, It does just about everything else automatically -- and it doesn't always ask for your preference. If you're not careful it puts your whole life in "the cloud" -- which, you hope, will NEVER be hacked -- and shuts down your favorite browser and mailer in favor of its own. You'll end up with new versions of "Mail" and "Internet Exploder" or whatever Microsoft and the federal spooks now call their newest Web botch. There's lots of other things, good and bad, for you to wonder about and tinker with. On the whole, Win 10 Pro is fun to watch but dangerously presumptive. I've got it installed. I've been using it for a week. I'm typing this in Ubuntu Linux because I plan to wash my Win 10 hard drive and go back to Win 7, where I can use Firefox and Thunderbird without being reminded of newer, better options courtesy of Microsoft and the CIA.
