Excellent value from a reputable brand. Works with constant actuations so you can get rapid readouts. Clear optics and great battery life. Hold the red button for 10 seconds to switch from yards to meters. Water resistant also. Get a rechargeable cr2 battery and a usb solar charger and you'll have ranging capabilities under any conditions. I chose this one as it is Leupold and competitive in price to lesser brands. Leupold rx650
Got a chance to use the rx650 at a bowshoot over the weekend and it worked great. I haven't had a chance to get to the rifle range with it yet but i'm sure it will do fine. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is it doesn't pick up light like my other leupold optics and the field of view is narrow but it is clear and doesn't glare up when the sun hits it. Very functional for the price point.
This is my first rangefinder so I don't have any experience to draw on. The magnification is nice. At farther yardages past 200 you really need a very steady rest as I found it difficult to hold it steady on the target downrange to get a true reading. I just used my shooting sticks. Gets the job done with ease
