A Must Have!!
I would have given this radio a 5-star rating all day long, but there is one reason why I didn't. The delay. It does have a tendency to not respond to your demands instantly. For example.....You can be in radio mode and want to go to navigation. You push the navigation button and it will take 3-4 seconds before it comes up. Same thing if you want to go from navigation to radio or any other input. Delays. Another gripe I have is the backup camera. When you stop and put the car in park fast, it will catch that you passed the reverse so it will stop what it is doing to bring up the backup camera for a moment and then go back to the main screen. This is annoying and it is a slow process. Even when you are backing up for real and then put the vehicle in drive, there is that delay before the screen returns where you had it. If you can get over these annoyances, this radio is amazing! It is powerful as I replaced a 2008 Impreza's stock six-disc radio with it. Everything else stayed the same and it sounds SO much better now! I love how I can hotspot my phone to it and be able to look at live traffic cameras in town, get weather alerts as I am driving down the road, up to date navigation info from live traffic reports, DVD player and the ability to mirror my iPhone so I can use Waze or any other app for that matter. Outdated and discontinued
This product was released in 2015. As such, some of the services it advertises are no longer available. It comes with Garmin maps from 2014. It costs $70 to get current maps. Aupeo! has gone out of business and is not useable. Phones that use MHL to display on the receiver are generally older. The same issues arise with Bluetooth compatibility. The product no longer comes with mounting brackets, screws, or batteries. The INRIX traffic service no longer seems to function. The Route Collector service is only for Apple products. Overall I am greatly disappointed with the advertised features vs. the still useable features. It may take more getting familiar with than most but once its set up and youve used its MANY features it is a breeze The quality sound will amaze. Disappointed!
First there are too many steps to do one thing. It doesn't mirror using my Note 5. It is very slow when reacting to do the next thing. I can't get to the sd card because the screen doesn't open enough. When the screen does open it clicks.
