The Surface Book was all that I anticipated. It's an amazing laptop first and foremost, but it's also an amazing tablet. The specs on this model make all of the applications load quickly and easily. The display is super sharp with vibrant colors. The key board feels a little larger than most, but when compared to an Dell of the same size there really is no difference. As mentioned, the laptop features are first, but with the touch of a button, the display pulls up from the keyboard allowing you to easily care the device in tablet mode. It runs all of the current Office products (Word, Excel, PwrPoint, etc.,) extremely fast and it's very noticeable. However, you must consider the I7 Inter Processor along with the 16 GB of RAM and the super quick 512 GB SSD. All in all, the MS Surface Book is Microsoft's answer to Apple's hardware and software designs. Good job, Microsoft.Read full review

Recently started using this laptop for work. Previously was using a Dell XPS laptop. Lots of pluses and a few cons. Pluses: really fast, great screen resolution, able to detach screen and use for multiple purposes, beautiful laptop, nice keyboard. Cons: the pen's battery doesn't seem to last super long. I only had it for a month or two before the battery died. No standard 3.5mm audio jack, not a big deal. You can always use a docking station which has one or use a bluetooth headset. Overall I would definitely recommend. Thought about getting one for personal use.

I had my doubts about this machine after owning the unimpressive surface pro 1...oh how far Microsoft has come since then. In an obvious attempt to sway the Apple crowd to reconsider PC offerings this notebook has all the fit and finish, performance and portability of a MacBook Pro with a more extensive feature set including the ability to detach the screen as a tablet and the convenience of the surface pen, which actually feels like the familiar tool it should unlike previous efforts by many manufacturers. The entire experience of this notebook leaves you with a sense of satisfaction...a rare feeling in a market flooded with high priced, posh notebooks (many of which I've had the pleasure/displeasure of having my hands on). In this day and age it's hard to find a product that doesn't leave you wanting more, so hats off to Microsoft...the Surface Book is a rare bird indeed.Read full review

Running fast with large memory. The screen is perfect for me. My favorite is the detachable design which gives me the flexibility of reading papers or drawing pictures when I needed. The stylus is accurate and easy to use. I'm quite surprised by the hand writing input which is so well designed. The only limitation is graphic card. Maybe the performance base will be a better choice for people desire a high graphic performance.

For a ~3 lb tablet, it is quite zippy, tackling everything I threw at it with zeal and easy. Obviously, it had some trouble with gaming PC gaming (as that is not what it is designed for), but the fact that a TABLET could do that at all was astounding. For my purposes, it is absolutely perfect: utility in every situation, power to overcome any mobile problem, and enough speed and battery life to lend credence to the idea that this item is a viable option for mobile work, as opposed to a short-lived gimmick.
